Brennans Bio Field study #2

 Field Notes

Date and Time: Tuesday, September 27 at 6:15 

Climate Conditions: 10-15 mph winds coming from the north, was very overcast and was raining very lightly. 

Temperature: Temperature was at around 55 degrees but wind chill made it feel cooler.

Length of day: 13 hours 9 minutes from sunrise to sunset

Notes: Not much moving today possibly due to nasty weather, trees were getting beat by the wind, saw a turkey walking slowly way back in the woods beyond my field study area. 

Changes noted since last study: Tree was uprooted by heavy winds not too long ago, most ferns are now dead and withering/browning due to cold, pine/coniferous trees are still green obviously, Other trees have not quite begun changing color.

    Great job. Start watching for patterns in the color change and leaf fall.

Date and Time: 11/30/2022 Length of day: 9 hours 18 minutes Temperature: 31degrees fahrenheit.  Climate conditions: Very windy with gusts exceeding 20 miles per hour. Wind is coming from the west and is extremely cold. Was overcast earlier but very little precipitation.  Notes: Did not see anything except a squirrel climb up a tree which was not in my field study area anyway, only sat for a 15 minutes as the wind was freezing cold, didn't hear anything either. All snow has melted other than that I haven't noticed any changes.

 Date and Time: Sunday, November 13 Length of day: 9 hours 50 minutes.  Temperature: Weather channel says 34 degrees.  Climate conditions: East wind at about 4 miles an hour, no precipitation, cloudy, 71% humidity. Notes: This field study has been by far the coldest, I waited for it to stop snowing to do mine as the snow was wet and heavy while it fell, after the snow I watched two Blue Jays flying around, they didn't seem to have anything to do other than bother each other, they were both very colorful and had bright blues and whites all over. Thought about drawing one of them but they were a ways away and constantly flying around. This didn't happen during my field study this time but earlier in the week I saw a monstrous buck run through the clearing, I'm betting it was chasing the trail of some does that went through there the afternoon before, It was a solid 10 point and was really awesome. Bio Field study #3

 Date and Time: Saturday, October 15, 4:42 Length of day: 11 hours and 3 minutes Temperature: 51 farenheit, 45 with wind chill according to the weather channel.  Climate conditions: 17 mile per hour south west wind, partly cloudy with no precipitation, very comfortable weather with sweatshirt on.  Notes: Saw two full grown deer moving around browsing between two trees beyond my field study area, they were quite alert and seemed suspicious of everything, watched them for a few minutes before they moved along and out of sight. Other than that didn't see much else moving other than a squirrel up in the trees. Wind was very chilly and sun didn't do much to provide warmth.  Changes noted since last study:  Although not easily visible due to the glare in the picture, all of the non coniferous trees in the woods are now changing color and some have lost most of their upper leaves already, as usual coniferous trees are still green and warm looking, ferns have all died a...
